United States Joins Growing List of Countries Permitting Homosexuals to Serve in Military

According to the Palm Center at UC Santa Barbara, as of June 2009,here is the list of countries allowing gays to serve:

Australia

Austria

Belgium

Canada

Czech Republic

Denmark

Estonia

Finland

France

Germany

Ireland

Israel

Italy

Lithuania

Luxembourg

Netherlands

New Zealand

Norway

Slovenia

South Africa

Spain

Sweden

Switzerland

UK

Uruguay

 

Wikipedia offers a longer list, including these countries excluded from the Palm Center list:

Albania

Argentina

Bermuda

Republic of China (Taiwan)

Colombia

Greece

Malta

Peru

Philippines

Poland

Romania

Russia

Serbia

 

Strikingly missing from these lists are Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, and Turkey. Time for these countries to join the Twenty-First century.
