Provisional Committee on Proposals Related to a WIPO Development Agenda : Fourth Session

Madhavi Sunder and I are in Geneva, attending the Fourth Session of the Provisional Committee on Proposals Related to a WIPO Development Agenda. This promises to be contentious--most of the tough issues on the Development Agenda were kicked from the February meeting to this meeting.

The room is quite full. The country chairs are about 2/3rds occupied. The two NGO and observer rows at the back are about 60% full. The Federalist Society is here, as is Knowledge Ecology International (KEI) (formerly CP Tech) and EFF.

Madhavi and I are part of the four-person KEI delegation.

The Chinese delegate speaks to note that there are errors in the translation of their comments on the Third Session report.

Germany takes the floor (in English): error in reference to "European Commission" (it should say "European Community" (or Communities?)).
